I was just informed that after busting my ass more than full time for two years at a non-profit, I will not qualify for unemployment. Since non-profits are exempt from paying into the state system, apparently I’m exempt from the system too. I hate this stupid bullshit. I don’t think I’ve ever cried this much or felt this completely screwed. I hate this. I guess now is the time that I stop looking for a good job and start taking any job anywhere for any money. Awesome.Moral of the storey: don’t work for a non-profit unless you’re ok with the government screwing you.
