This, from a commenter on a website where 70 strangers tore me to shreds for suggesting the idea. Easy, indeed.
The best thing about this thread, which I won’t link to, is that (still!) no expert on economics provides an actual argument that minimum wage actually does any good.
It’s just ad-hominem attacks from strangers, some of whom actually call me evil, which doesn’t sting too hard, because, by their standards, I am.
I am not an economist. I have read several books on the subject, and none of them are in line with the common wisdom spread by non-economists in the blogosphere and in the news media. So, given that economic issues are at the center of the 2008 presidential race, maybe it’s in our best interest to take the subject seriously?
