Finally, like every year, I have left the “lovely British weather” behind and I have gone back to my home country, Spain. It is not a surprise for any of my friends to find out that I have disappeared leaving no clues behind, I’ve always done it, and probably will do it for the rest of my life… But I guess that doing so is not very nice for the people that do not know me well, specially when (if any ever does it) they start wondering what has happened with me. For those who want to know it, this is more or less what has been going on recently.
I arrived to Mallorca on July 24th after spending some hot and dry days in Madrid. Madrid’s weather is horrible during the summer which makes the Spaniards leaving there behave the opposite way than most of the Europeans. While the rest of Europeans want to go to warmer places, us Spaniards, want to goo too cooler ones, lets say we do not particularly enjoy being in a city with an average temperature of 40/42 CÂș.
Since I arrived to Mallorca, or should I say the Balearic Islands (Illes Balears in our local language or Islas Baleares in Spanish), the weather has been great. I said the Balearic Islands because, to be fair, I just spend the day of the 25th in Mallorca before I left to Formentera for the next 4 days. I journey to Formentera was great if we ignore the fact that I had to wake up at 6 am and the journey took around 4 hours. We actually had really good sea with small waves and we had enough time to stop by Ibiza and have breakfast in one of its “calas”(I prefer to use the word cala because is more precise. It can be described as a small beach that is usually found in the Balearic Islands due to their calcite composition.)
The next four days where spent in Formentera enjoying really nice food, reading and lowering my stress levels:
There is not much more to tell, I have come back to Mallorca (the main island) and will be enjoying my time here as much as possible, I’ll probably wil try to be more alive (intenertly speaking)
Regards
