I have been looking several days for a hosting server that would let me have SuSe in my dedicated server for a reasonable price, and I finally got it.
I know, I know… a lot of people are going to complain about my OS choice. And I already know some of the statements/facts that are going to tell me:
- apt is so much better that yast & zypper
- SuSe is not really open
- Use Ubuntu is cool
- etc…
I still do not understand why people want me to stop using what I like, dammed I use SuSe ‘cause it was the first distro I used (I think it was SuSe 3), I am used to it, I like it, I like how it works and most important think for me, mono installation is soooo much easier.
Yes I have chosen my server according to what I was going to use for the different services I’ve got in mind with some friends. I don’t like LAMP at all. I like the first 3 letter of LAMP but I prefer to change perl/php for either Ruby of .Net.
It is a matter of taste and I am not going to listen to any of fanboys/friends that want me to change.
