high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques
We all know I’m a geek and when I heard about this technique I wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately my first images did not look very good because I did not use a tripod (silly me) but after that I had some fun with the Sony a200, the tripod and anything I could find at home :D, here are some of the picts I took:
The above images where assembled using Phomatix. The differences you can see between the images are because I used to different techniques for the processing, the first images where processed using Details Enhancer while in the second ones I used Tone Compressor which is ment to give more realistic results. My next attempt will be take picts from outside and perform the HDR using Photoshop and Photomatix to see the actual difference, I might even use RAX rather than JPEG for the image types…
